Remembering Christ’s Words in the Gospel of Matthew (25:40), here are some means of service:
CCAP – Congregational Community Action Project
Advent has had a lengthy and ongoing association with this well-run local helping institution. A part of our regular offering is budgeted for supporting CCAP. We also regularly collect and deliver food and other goods to CCAP for distribution.
From the website: “CCAP, the Congregational Community Action Project, is a cooperative ministry of 45 area churches and one synagogue serving Winchester and Frederick County that have joined together to provide financial, material and supportive assistance to people in need.”
From the website: “AbbaCare is a non-profit organization that has served women in the Winchester area since 1988. We are completely supported by donations from individuals, churches, and organizations. There is no charge for any of our services.”

Faith in Action provides door-to-door transportation to area residents who have no means to get to and from medical appointments and scheduled treatment.
Through the generosity of volunteer drivers, our clients receive service that is prompt, attentive and free of charge.
Habitat For Humanity (Winchester/Frederick County)

As Advent is a parish of the North American Lutheran Church, we also support the global work of Lutheran World Relief. This organization is a top rated charity that has a truly world-wide reach.
Advent also supports the NALS (North American Lutheran Seminary)
Individual members also support:
Bethania Kids – “Bethania Kids is a Christian mission that exists to bring wholeness and hope to orphaned, abandoned, and disabled children in India.”
